Rupiculous and/or arboreal. Found on trees and other vertical structures such as huts and houses, in savanna woodland, from coastal plains and mangroves to low mountain slopes along the eastern escarpment of South Africa, up to 1,000 m elevation (Jacobsen 1989, Broadley 2000, Bourquin 2004).
