Terrestrial

Rupicolous, typically living on granite, gneiss and shale rock outcrops. Uses narrow crevices for refuge, and frequently uses shelf rock such as exfoliation domes, in conjunction with large boulders. It occupies the moister Succulent Karoo Biome. Typically found on relatively small rock outcrops or the lower slopes of mountains, at elevations of 40-1,000 m (Branch and Whiting 1997).
