A fossorial species, found under rocks on the soil surface, in burrows or in rotting logs, in sandy Kalahari soils with mixed bushveld and clayey Mopane woodland on both north- and south-facing slopes, at altitudes between 230-1,400 m (Jacobsen 1989).
