It is found in a very wide variety of habitats, including forest, savanna woodland, thickets, and suburban areas. It is typically found in leaf-litter. It breeds by direct development and is not dependent upon water. It lays its eggs in hollows or burrows in damp earth, often under bushes or around the roots of trees.
