The Pink Agile Grasshopper (Plegmapterus splendens) has a wide distribution from northern Namibia to the south of South Africa. As it appears to be quite common and has a wide distribution with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of ca 1.2 million km² it is probably not threatened and, therefore, assessed as Least Concern.

No information on the population size and trends of this species are available. However, there are numerous records from South Africa and Namibia, suggesting that it is quite common.

The main threat to this species is conversion of its habitat into farmland.

The species is not utilized.

No conservation action is in place for this species or needed. It occurs in protected areas. Research into its ecology, threats and population trend is required. Taxonomic research is needed to clarify the status of the subpopulations in the North of Namibia (Naskrecki 1995).
