The Kruger Agile Grasshopper occurs in the North of South Africa and southern Zimbabwe. It may also occur in the very east of Botswana and southwest of Mozambique. Further research is required to fully understand its distribution, ecology, threats and population trend. Based upon its wide distribution with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of ca 200,000 km², it is assessed as Least Concern.
Distribution
Amblyphymus rubripes has been originally described from Kruger National Park, South Africa (Dirsh 1956). It is found in the North of South Africa and South of Zimbabwe. It may also occur in the eastern part of Botswana and Southwest of Mozambique. An uncertain records exist from Bedford (Eastern Cape Province). Its estimated extant of occurrence is ca 200,000 km².
No specific population information exists about this species. It has been frequently reported from the eastern Limpopo province and therefore is assumed to be rather common.
Threats
The species is likely to be affected by conversion of habitat into farmland and exotic tree plantations.

The species is not utilised.
