The Robust Conehead Katydid is widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa with the exception of deserts. It has been recorded from Angola, Botswana, DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, and Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and North-West Provinces, South Africa.

This species has a widespread distribution, thrives in altered habitats, and has no known immediate threats.
