The threat status of the Black-spotted Plangia is Least Concern because it has a large extent of occurrence and, due to its sporadic pest status, affinity for cultivated crops and presence within protected areas, its geographic range is not expected to be severely fragmented or to experience decline in the foreseeable future.  

Distribution

The Black-spotted Plangia (Plangia compressa) is widespread throughout South Africa. It is found in Northern Cape, Western Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal Provinces, South Africa.
