The threat status of the African Oblong-eyed Katydid (Eurycorypha meruensis) is Least Concern because it has a relatively large extent of occurrence and, due to its occurrence within protected areas, its geographic range is not expected to be severely fragmented or to experience decline or extreme fluctuations presently or in the foreseeable future.  

Distribution

The African Oblong-eyed Katydid is common in East Africa including Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (Hemp, 2013), and was once recorded from Pretoria, Gauteng Province, South Africa.
