This species is widespread and relatively common. At present, there are no known substantial threats so the species is considered Least Concern.
Distribution
This species is endemic to southern Africa, distributed from South Africa (Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal provinces) into Eswatini (Swaziland), southern Mozambique and eastern Zimbabwe (Broadley 1990, Marais 2004, Bates et al. 2014).
