Red List of South African Species

Alternatively, Explore species
Least Concern (LC)

Rationale

Widespread and common, with no major extrinsic threats.

Distribution

Endemic to South Africa and southern Namibia. Within South Africa it occurs in the Northern Cape and northern portions of the Western Cape  provinces (Broadley and Greer 1969). The identity of specimens collected at Molopo Nature Reserve in the western part of North-West Province requires confirmation (Bates et al. 2014). Due to the changes in species concept of  the Acontias lineatus group and A. kgalagadi group, identifications in overlapping areas needs to be re-investigated to refine current distributions.
