Widespread and found in several protected areas; therefore considered Least Concern.

Distribution

Found across most of sub-Saharan  Africa. Found in Zambia, Zimbabwe, northern Botswana, Namibia (Caprivi Strip), southern Angola, South Africa and central Mozambique (Branch 1998, Jacobsen and Broadley 2000). Within South Africa it is restricted to Limpopo and northern Mpumalanga provinces (Bates et al. 2014), with an extent of occurrence ca. 102,000 km2.
