Widespread and common with only very localized threats of intensive mining activity in scattered areas. The species is considered Least Concern.

Distribution

northwest South Africa in the Northern Cape Province, from Kakamas to Vioolsdrif (Bates et al. 2014). Namibian localities situated away from the Orange River valley are disjunct. A locality in the western Northern Cape north of Wallekraal  should be verified (Bauer et al. 2006).
