Rationale
(Changed due to Same category and criteria)
This species has a small range in South Africa, but is abundant in areas that are not impacted by habitat loss. Most of the distribution is in protected areas or in buffer zones of diamond mining areas, where it also receives de facto protection. This species is also tolerant of disturbance and is found in and around human habitations at Sendelingsdrif (Bauer and Branch 2001, Bauer et al. 2006). The species is therefore considered Least Concern.
Distribution
Endemic to southern Africa, where it occurs in the northwestern part of the Northern Cape and in the Lüderitz and Karasburg districts of Namibia (Bates et al. 2014). All known localities are in the lower Orange River valley, lower Fish River valley and Holoog River valley, or in the plains and hills west of the Huib Hoch Plateau (Bauer et al. 2006).

Population trend
Trend
This species is abundant in areas that have been well surveyed (Bauer et al. 2006). It is therefore considered to be stable.
Threats
In the Richtersveld, there may be a very localized threat from seasonally intensive small stock movement near river access points and along stock trails (Bauer and Branch 2003 [2001]). However, much of the distribution is either in protected areas, or in areas with little habitat transformation.
Uses and trade
No known utilization.
Conservation
None recommended.
