Red List of South African Species

Alternatively, Explore species
Least Concern (LC)

Rationale (Changed due to Same category and criteria)

Widespread and common, found in several areas with low human and agricultural impact, and no significant threats, therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to South Africa and Namibia. In South Africa this species occurs throughout much of the Northern Cape Province, with one record in the northeastern portion of the Western Cape Province (Bates et al. 2014). In Namibia it occurs chiefly in the south, adjacent to the South African population, but with scattered isolated populations extending about 800 km to the north (Bauer 1990, Branch 1998). The apparent distribution disjunction in Namibia is probably artifactual (Bauer 1990).
