Distribution

Endemic to sub-Saharan Africa. Found in southern Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, northern and northeastern South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland), Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya (Broadley 1966, Spawls et al. 2002). Within South Africa it is found mainly north of 26°S in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng, North-West and Northern Cape, northeastern KwaZulu-Natal provinces (Bates et al. 2014).
