Distribution

Endemic to southern Africa. Occurs in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini (Swaziland) and South Africa (Broadley and Greer 1969). Within South Africa, it is widespread in the northern and eastern regions of Limpopo, in eastern Mpumalanga and throughout the lower elevations of KwaZulu-Natal provinces (Bates et al. 2014). There are scattered coastal subpopulations in the Eastern Cape Province, from Dwesa-Cwebe Nature Reserve in the north to East London region in the south (Bates et al. 2014).
