A range-restricted endemic species from the Western Cape Province, South Africa (EOO 36 km<sup>2</sup>). Occurs only at a single site on the higher parts of Gydo Mountain. There are no actual or perceived threats to its habitat. The taxon thus qualifies globally under the IUCN criteria as Least Concern and is nationally classified as Extremely Rare.

Endemic to the Western Cape Province in South Africa, from Gydo Mountain, Ceres District.
