Endemic to the eastern and southern parts of South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland) and Lesotho (Bates et al. 2014). The records in the Graaff-Reinet area (Bates et al. 2014) are the first records of this species in the northwestern part of the Eastern Cape Province.
The population is suspected to be stable.
