Although the distribution is relatively small, all of the known records occur within a protected area (Kruger National Park) where there are no known extrinsic threats. This species is therefore considered Least Concern.

Distribution

Currently thought to be endemic to South Africa, found only within northern Kruger National Park in northeastern Limpopo Province (Jacobsen 1989, Pietersen et al. 2018). It is possible that it also occurs in adjacent Mozambique and/or Zimbabwe, although there are no records from there at present.

No information currently available on population trends, but the species is considered to be stable. Its' known distribution is entirely within a large protected area (Kruger National Park).

Not known to be utilized in any way.

Conservation

As far as is known, the whole population occurs within the Kruger National Park and is therefore fully protected. No conservation measures recommended at this time.
