Least Concern (LC)

Rationale (Changed due to Same category and criteria)

Although it has a small extent of occurrence (ca 7,700 km2), this species occurs on the slopes of the Lebombo Mountains and is considered secure with no known immediate threats. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Population trend

Trend

There is currently no information available on population sizes or trends but the species is inferred to be stable given that most of its distribution is not impacted.

Threats

There are no obvious threats to this population, which occurs along an extensive mountain range that cannot be used for any form of agriculture or development. However, some subpopulations, such as those in the south, could be indirectly affected by land transformation though small scale agriculture which has increased in the area in the last decades (Geo Terra Image 2015, 2016).

Uses and trade

This species is not known to be traded.

Conservation
