Cordylus minor is considered Least Concern as there are currently no significant threats to its habitat and it is not considered to be in decline.

Distribution

Endemic to the western Karoo in the Western and Northern Cape provinces, South Africa, from the Komsberg range in the north to Matjiesfontein in the south (Branch 1998, Bates et al. 2014).

Although the  range is relatively small, there are no tangible threats at present.

This species is listed in CITES Appendix II; it is not known to occur in any protected areas. Given this species is part of a complex, improved information relating to taxonomy and distribution would be beneficial.
