Fairly widespread (extent of occurrence is more than 85,000 km2) and common with no major threats, hence assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to southern Africa, occurring from the northern half of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and southern Limpopo provinces, South Africa and in western Eswatini [Swaziland], (Bates et al. 2014). It may also occur in southern Mozambique.

Widespread and common and therefore the population is inferred to be stable.

There are no major threats to this species.

Not known to be utilized or traded in any way.

Conservation

The range coincides with a number of protected areas. No conservation actions are recommended.
