Fairly widespread and common, hence assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to southern Africa region. They are found from St. Lucia Village and Mtubatuba in KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and eastern Mpumalanga provinces (South Africa), and in southeastern Eswatini [Swaziland] (Bates et al. 2014), with an extent of occurrence of 90,600 km2. The species  is likely to occur in southern Mozambique but this has not been verified (Pienaar et al. 1983, Broadley 1994).

There are no major threats to this species.
