This species is found in the Soutpansberg, Limpopo Province, South Africa, with additional records in the Blouberg Mountain (Bates et al. 2014).
The species is inferred to be stable given that it is essentially distributed in two mountainous areas that are not impacted by human activities.
The range coincides with a protected area. There are records of this species from both the Soutpansberg and the Blouberg mountains. The elevational range of this species suggests that there should be connectivity between these mountains. However, there are few records from either mountain so improved data on the distribution as well as genetic analyses would assist to understand whether the two mountains form one population.
