Rationale
(Changed due to Same category and criteria)
A fairly widespread and common species with no major threats, hence it is assessed as Least Concern.
Distribution
Endemic to South Africa where it is fairly widespread in southern Limpopo, northern Mpumalanga and northern Gauteng provinces, with apparently isolated subpopulations in North-West Province (Bates et al. 2014).
The isolated subpopulations in North-West Province currently assigned to Lygodactylus nigropunctatus should be re-evaluated using molecular methods. The range coincides with a number of protected areas.
