Red List of South African Species

Alternatively, Explore species
Least Concern (LC)

Rationale (Changed due to Same category and criteria)

This species occurs across several ranges in the Western Cape Fold mountains, where it is restricted to higher elevations (>750 m, with most records from sites above 1,400 m a.s.l.) and high rainfall sites. Although sparsely distributed over a narrow range with a relatively moderate extent of occurrence (ca 9,000 km2), much of the area is formally protected and there are few anthropogenic threats to the habitat. This species is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Distribution

This montane species is endemic to the Western Cape, South Africa, occurring from Tafelberg in the northern Cederberg, south and east to Witbosrivier Nature Reserve in the western Langeberg Mountains (Bates et al. 2014).
