 This species is fairly widely distributed in mostly undisturbed mountainous country. There is no evidence of population declines. This species is considered as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to the Western Cape, South Africa, inhabiting the northern Cape Fold Mountains, from Kliphuis-Heuningvlei in the Cederberg in the north to Keeromsberg in the south (Visser 1984, Bates et al. 2014).

The species is inferred to be stable, given the lack of threat within its distribution.

There are no major threats to this species.

Not known to be utilized or traded.

Conservation

No recommendations at present. The range coincides with a number of protected areas.
