Red List of South African Species

Alternatively, Explore species
Least Concern (LC)

Rationale (Changed due to Same category and criteria)

Has a wide range in Namaqualand, South Africa, albeit in scattered pockets of suitable mesic habitat within the fog belt. Global climate warming may affect the extent and frequency of fog in the region, and this may negatively impact the species. Anthropogenic threats are few and not of major concern, hence this species is assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Confined to Namaqualand, from the Spoeg River mouth and in the northwards to the Orange River valley, with a possibly isolated subpopulation near Augrabies, South Africa. An isolated record (Süd Witpütz, Bauer and Branch 2003), unsupported by recent collections, is the only record for southern Namibia so its occurrence there is unconfirmed.
