This is a widespread species with no known major threats and it is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a threatened category. It is assessed as Least Concern.
Distribution
This species is widespread in eastern and southern Africa except in dense rainforest, from Ethiopia to Angola and South Africa. Old reference from Guinea must be erroneous.
