Listed as Least Concern due to its wide distibution and presumed large population. However, being a recently described species, further researches need to be carried out concerning its population trends, life history and ecology and threats.
Distribution
This species is currently only known from the KwaZulu-Natal midlands in South Africa, but it is expected to have a wide distribution (Channing et al. 2013).
Its temporary breeding pools are threatened by draining due to agriculture.
