Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, its tolerance of a broad range of habitats and its presumed large population.

Distribution

This species is known from northern South Africa, eastern Botswana, Zimbabwe, southern Zambia, southern and western Mozambique and southern Malawi. It might occur in Swaziland. It is also known from a few localities in Kenya, which suggests that it is also present in Tanzania. A record from Namibia was a misidentification. It occurs mainly below 1,000 m asl.
