Listed as Least Concern since, although its Extent of Occurrence is probably less than 20,000 km2, it occurs in an area of extensive, suitable habitat which appears not to be significantly under threat, and it has a presumed large population.
Distribution
This species occurs only on the southern slopes of the Cape Fold Mountains, South Africa, from the Langeberg Mountains near Swellendam in the west, to the Outenique Mountains in the east. It ranges from sea level up to over 1,000 m asl.
The main threats to this species are loss of its habitat as a result of afforestation, the spread of alien vegetation, and fires taking place too frequently. However, overall, its habitat is well protected.
Uses and trade
There are no reports of this species being utilized.
