Listed as Least Concern in view of its relatively wide distribution, its tolerance of a degree of habitat modification and its presumed large population.
Distribution
This species is endemic to southeastern South Africa, ranging from Manubi in Eastern Cape Province, northeast to Sodwana Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. It is a low-altitude species.
Its habitat is being lost, especially as a result of urban spread, expanding large-scale commercial agriculture, drainage of breeding habitats, drying out of breeding habitats due to the spread of invasive plants, and afforestation.
Uses and trade
There are no reports of this species being utilized.
