Distribution

This species is endemic to southeastern South Africa, ranging from Manubi in Eastern Cape Province, northeast to Sodwana Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. It is a low-altitude species.

Threats

Its habitat is being lost, especially as a result of urban spread, expanding large-scale commercial agriculture, drainage of breeding habitats, drying out of breeding habitats due to the spread of invasive plants, and afforestation.
