Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, its tolerance of a broad range of habitats and its presumed large population.

Distribution

This species ranges from northwestern Tanzania and southern Kenya (Olorgesailie) south to southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, eastern Angola and western Zambia, as far as southeastern Botswana, southern Mozambique, Swaziland and the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It has not been recorded from Lesotho.
