Common in several large subsystems of the Limpopo River. Thriving in several large dams. No major threats recognized.
Distribution
Parts of the Limpopo River system in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The species appears to be in certain upper tributaries and has a rather unusual fragmented distribution as it occurs in the upper Umzingwane (Zimbabwe), Crocodile, Marico, Mogol and Magalakwena (South Africa). It also occurs in several dams within these regions such as the Hartebeespoort, Roodeplaat and Donkerpoort Dams.
