An endemic taxon from the Sutherland area in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa (EOO 569 km<sup>2</sup>). There are no current threats and it does not show signs of severe fragmentation, continuing decline or extreme fluctuations. The taxon thus qualifies globally under the IUCN criteria as Least Concern.

Endemic to the Northern Cape Province in South Africa, from the Roggeveld Escarpment around Sutherland.

The taxon is known from six subpopulations, two on different mountains are in close proximity, whereas the other four subpopulations would not to be affected simultaneously by any adverse condition, thus there are five locations.
