Widespread and abundant with no known substantial threats.

Distribution

Endemic to southern Africa. Known from the southern half of Namibia, southern half of Botswana and western, southern and central parts of South Africa (Broadley and Wüster 2004). In South Africa it is widespread in the Northern, Western and Eastern Cape provinces, western and southern Free State, and North-West Province (Bates et al. 2014). It may marginally enter southwestern Lesotho, but this requires confirmation. Its occurrence in the northeastern part of the Eastern Cape also requires confirmation.
