This species is common and has a large range in South Africa (extent of occurrence ca. 42,000 km2) and is therefore considered Least Concern.

Distribution

Found in northern Limpopo Province, South Africa, extending northwards through Zimbabwe, central and northern Mozambique, to coastal Kenya and into the southern Congo Basin, including northeastern Angola (Broadley 1990, Broadley and Wallach 2009, Bates et al. 2014).
