This species has a wide distribution in northwestern South Africa, in areas that are not heavily impacted by human activities. It is therefore considered Least Concern.

Distribution

In South Africa, this species is found in the arid northwest (Bates et al. 2014). Globally, it extends into central Namibia. There are taxonomic issues that could necessitate the splitting of this species, in which case the South Africa taxon would be a near-endemic, just reaching into southern Namibia (see Makokha et al. 2007).
