Although this species probably is in low density, it has a wide distribution in areas that are not under substantial anthropogenic threat.

Distribution

This species is distributed widely in the western half of South Africa (Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces) south to the Cape Fold Mountains (Bates et al. 2014). Globally, it is also extends into central Namibia to southwestern Botswana (Bates et al. 2014).

The population is suspected to be stable. The species probably does not occur in high density given that sightings are relatively rare.
