This species has a wide distribution and occurs in several large protected areas. There are no known substantial threats to the species or its habitat.

Distribution

This species is widely distributed in southern Africa, from Angola and Namibia, through Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and northern South Africa. In South Africa, it is found in Limpopo, northern Gauteng and adjacent western Mpumalanga provinces. Also occurs in Maputaland, the KwaZulu-Natal coast and southern Mozambique (FitzSimons 1943, Branch 1998, Bates et al. 2014).
