Within South Africa, this species occurs mainly within the protected Kruger National Park. The distribution is moderate in size (extent of occurrence > 17,000 km2) and there are no known specific threats.

Distribution

Endemic to southeastern Africa. Found in southern Mozambique, southeastern Zimbabwe and along the eastern border of the Kruger National Park in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, South Africa (Broadley 1997, Bates et al. 2014) with a large estimated extent of occurrence (ca. 17,000 km2).
