Widespread and common in its range as a whole. In has a relatively small range in South Africa, but it is abundant and occurs in several protected areas.

Distribution

Restricted to southern Africa, where it occurs throughout Zimbabwe, in west-central Mozambique, eastern Botswana, and in the northern Limpopo Province of South Africa (Broadley 1977, Jacobsen 1989, Bates et al. 2014).
