This species has a small distribution (extent of occurrence less than 10,000 km2), but is found in several protected areas and is overall found in an area of low impact with little habitat transformation. This species is assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to Little Namaqualand, South Africa, where it occurs in the Kamiesberg and Komaggas Hills, reaching Steinkop in the north. It is absent from the Richtersveld (Bauer and Branch 2003 [2001], Bates et al. 2014, Heinike et al. 2017).
