Rationale

Widespread and common, and relatively tolerant of low-level agricultural and urban developments, hence it is assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Largely restricted to South Africa, with isolated subpopulations in the Spergebeit (Aurusberg) and Karasburg district of southern Namibia (Branch 1994). In South Africa the distribution includes the western parts of the Northern Cape province, extending marginally into the Western Cape Province at Kliprand and the western parts of the Karoo until Loeriesfontein.
