This species is relatively widespread and common with no major threats, hence it is assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to the greater Kamiesberg region of Namaqualand, Northern Cape Province, South Africa, from Carolusberg near Springbok southwards to Garies  (Branch and Whiting 1997).

The species is inferred to be stable, given that habitat loss within its distribution has been minimal.

Threats

There are no major threats to this species.

The species is not listed on CITES and is not known to be traded.

Conservation

It occurs in some protected areas. No conservation actions are recommended.
