Red List of South African Species

Alternatively, Explore species
Least Concern (LC)

Rationale

Has a relatively broad range and is common in most areas. May be locally impacted by land transformation as much of its range is heavily modified; however, it can occur as a human commensal. Reported to be displaced by Hemidactylus mabouia in coastal areas (Alexander 1990, Branch 1998), but this threat is localized. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.
