This species is fairly widespread (extent of occurrence more than 17,000 km2) and  habitat fragmentation within its range is negligible, with no know population declines. The species is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Distribution

Endemic to the Waterberg and surrounding areas in Limpopo Province, South Africa (Jacobsen 1989).
