Occurs over a wide area with a large extent of occurrence (ca 64,000 km2) where there is little human disturbance. Found in a number of protected areas. There are no known threats to this species at present.

Distribution

Endemic to the Western and Eastern Cape provinces, South Africa, throughout most of the Western Cape Fold Mountains from the Cape Peninsula to Port Elizabeth (Bates et al. 2014).
